James Robert Morrison was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He earned his master's degree in art education from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. James has always been involved in the arts, thirteen years as a professional musician and fourteen as an art educator. In Pennsylvania, he taught art at the elementary level in the Ephrata School District and at the post-secondary level for the Thaddeus Stevens State School of Technology. He presently teaches art and photography for the Williams S. Hart School District in the Santa Clarita Valley and is a member of the Hollywood Arts Council and the Los Angeles Art Association.

" My sculptures are meant to evoke images of ancient civilizations and lost cultures. I am inspired by the spiritual and mystical qualities of the monuments left behind by former inhabitants of our earth: the statues on Easter Island, the prehistoric menhirs of Brittany, the totems of early tribes, and the legendary Stonehenge on the Salisbury Plain."

James believes that art transcends time, distance, and culture. It celebrates the spirit, communes with the soul, and in a world fraught with divisions is a unifying force.
